The Academic Calendar Committee (ACC) is established under the direction of Academic Affairs. The Committee serves in an advisory capacity to President’s Council. The Committee is tasked with the following:
Effective use of reading days enables students to solidify their learning. In Spring Semester 2016, a reading day is scheduled on Tuesday, February 16, and classes will not be held. Faculty should encourage students to use this day to prepare for midterm exams, complete assignments, or work or upcoming assignments.
Starting Fall 2016, a reading day will be scheduled the Friday before finals during Fall and Spring semesters. Friday, December 9, 2016 and Friday, April 28, 2017 are the scheduled reading days for the 2016-2017 Academic Calendar. Again, the purpose of these reading days is to reinforce the learning of the entire semester and give students time to prepare for final examinations.
All academic calendars are approved by the Academic Affairs Council and the President’s Council.
