SkillsUSA Recognition Gala

April 25,2017 -- 7:00pm

Check-in begins at 6:45pm

The SkillsUSA Banquet brings the top SkillsUSA High School competitors from around the state to Utah Valley University for a celebratory and informational gala. Utah Valley University has a long tradition of excellence in SkillsUSA.  We have placed in the top three nationally for fifteen consecutive years and traditionally have won more college medals as a single institution each year then up to forty-four states in the nation combined.

The banquet is free and a plated dinner is provided. Each student is allowed to bring up to 2 guests.

 

Presidential Scholarship Banquet 
February 28, 2017 -- 6:30pm(Has Ended)

Check-in and networking event begins at 5:30pm in the Ballroom Commons

The Presidential Scholarship Banquet is for all prospective students who have applied and have above a 3.9 GPA and a 30 ACT. These students all receive the Presidential Scholarship at UVU, which is a four-year, full-tuition scholarship. UVU President Matthew S. Holland hosts the event. 

Keynote Presentation topics include:

  • Exclusive insight into current projects at UVU
  • Academic Achievement and success
  • How UVU can help you achieve your academic goals

Networking Event

Representatives from several academic departments and student leadership groups will be on-hand for you to get your questions answered. Some of these departments and groups include, but are not limited to:

  • Wolverine Ambassadors
  • The Center for the Advancement of Leadership
  • Honors Program
  • Academic Colleges and Schools

 

The banquet is free and a plated dinner is provided. Each student is allowed to bring up to 2 guests upon RSVP.

 

Check-in

You will only need your name to check in at the banquet. Check-in begins at 5:30pm in the Ballroom Commons in the Sorenson Student Center. Seating is determined on a first-come, first-serve basis. Seating will begin at 6:10pm. The banquet begins at 6:30pm.

Sterling Scholar Banquet (Has ended)
January 26, 2017 -- 7:00pm

 

Check-in and Networking event begins at 6:00pm in the Grande Ballroom

 

The Annual Sterling Scholar Banquet held at Utah Valley University is for all Sterling Scholar winners across the state of Utah. Keynote speakers are chosen from a list of thought leaders from UVU.

 

Keynote presentation topics include:

 

  • Academic Achievement
  • Leadership
  • Success in life and career
  • Opportunities in Higher Education

 

Representatives from several academic departments and student leadership groups will be on hand for you to get your questions answered during a networking event from 6:00pm to 7:00pm prior to the event. Some of these departments and groups include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Wolverine Ambassadors
  • UVUSA
  • The Center for the Advancement of Leadership
  • UV Mentors
  • Honors Program
  • Scholarships
  • Academic Colleges and Schools

 

The banquet is free and a plated dinner is provided. Each Sterling Scholar is allowed to bring up to 2 guests upon RSVP. The RSVP deadline is January 22, 2017 at 11:59pm. You can RSVP by clicking below.

Scholarships Available to Sterling Scholar Winners

Sterling Scholar awards are one-year, full tuition for high school winners and four-year full tuition for Region and State winners and runner-ups. Applicants must complete the online scholarship application.

 

  • Incoming freshman.
  • Residency is required.
  • GPA required 3.0 to receive scholarship.
  • RETENTION:
  • 1 year 3.0 cumulative GPA and have 12 'earned' credit hours per semester.
  • 4 year 3.5 cumulative GPA and have 12 'earned' credit hours per semester.
