We are here to help you succeed at UVU!

As a continuing student, transferring 15 credits or more, we recognize that you've already got a good handle on what it takes to be a successful college student. However, like every college campus, UVU has it's own unique resources, services and student culture.

Orientation will introduce you to the tools and resources you need to successfully navigate UVU's campus environment so that you can achieve your academic goals, as well as contribute fully to the social and cultural climate of the university.


You must complete UVU's online orientation before you will be allowed to register for classes. In addition, you must also meet with your academic advisor before you will be able to register.

NOTE: You do not have to complete the orientation instructions below before you meet with your advisor. Please meet with your advisor as soon as you are able.

Instructions to complete new student orientation:

  1. Create your unique myUVU password. If you have not already done so, you will need to first login to myUVU and create your unique user password (view instructions). NOTE: You will need to be fully admitted and have a UVID in order to complete this step.
  2. Complete online orientation. Go to orientation.uvu.edu and login using your eight-digit UVID and myUVU password. You must fully complete all sections, and all quizzes and final test, to receive credit for completing online orientation. (Online orientation works great on your mobile device! If accessing from a desktop, we recommend that you use Chrome, Safari, or Firefox for the best browser experience.)
  3. Meet with your Academic Advisor. If you have not already done so, you must meet with your Academic Advisor to be cleared to register for classes.

Generally, your orientation hold will be removed within 1 business day after you complete online orientation. However, during peak admission cycles, it may take additional time for your transfer credits to be verified within our system. If you are transferring 15 credits or more, and your hold has not been removed after completing online orientation, please contact our orientation office and we will assist you (orientation@uvu.edu / 801-863-5491).
