Service Council

About the Service Council

The Service Council is a group of students dedicated to planning and implementing student-run programs for the benefit of UVU and the community. The Council is led by a student President, Vice President of Internal Affairs, Vice President of Recruitment, Student Coordinator of Publicity, and four Student Service Coordinators, each of whom help student Program Directors run various community outreach programs.

As leaders in the Service Council, students learn about community needs and assets, plan meaningful service, and enhance their interpersonal and leadership skills. Scholarships are available for executive Service Council positions. The application process begins every February.

The Service Council hosts a variety of volunteer events on and off campus.

Responsibilities of Service Council

The Service Council is responsible for successfully implementing assigned projects and programs in a given school year. The service President and Vice Presidents work to support and encourage the Student Coordinators, who in turn help Program Directors develop their skills and find the resources they need to plan their service.
